  • From the Senior Regent
  • We had a great turnout for the 26th annual golf tournament, we appreciate everyone who helped and participated. Without you all this would not have been possible.

A special thanks to the ladies who ran a shot cart and sold shots for the kids parties.

Heather Pennell, Debi Moore, Mary Eidson, Glenda Harris, and Patty Poore. You all did a great job and raised $506.This will go towards the kids Christmas, Easter and Halloween.

    Again, Thank You All

  • From the Editor
  • It is time again for change, a new chapter, a new board, a new Moose, and another place to sit. I need to say thank you to previous board(s) and my fellow officers whom I have served with over the last 3 years. It’s been an amazing journey and together we accomplished many great things. I do not know exactly what the future will bring for myself or our Lodge, but I can without a doubt say I am not giving up my fraternalism and commitment to Moose.

Since the day I was elected to be a Board Officer I have held one simple fact high above any of my own beliefs or opinions. I was elected by the general membership to serve and represent the general membership. By realizing the importance of that statement, I have been able to stay focused. I have never once threw up my hands and walked out. I have never made threats to resign if a decision was made that I didn’t like, if I had a differing opinion, or an incident angered me. To do that, would be giving up my seat and above all, letting down the general membership that elected me to represent them.

Elected officials don’t walk away because they have a different opinion, because they aren’t well liked by a small group, or do not like the results of any given situation. Officers show up to meetings. They listen. They keep a cool head. They must understand everyone’s viewpoints before forming a logical opinion and certainly, before making any kind of an informed decision. As a board officer it is your duty to get to know and understand the membership and the only way to do that is to visit and listen to them. Make it a point to move around the Social Quarters and speak to as many members as you can. Sit at all the tables, at each end of the bar and many times sit alone and take it all in. The next time you enter the Social Quarters and you settle into your normal spot, ask yourself the following questions:

    Did I sit here yesterday?
How long have I been sitting here?
Have I been sitting with the same people the whole time?
    Where will I sit tomorrow?

I hope that I have done well in the eyes of the general membership and that I will get the opportunity to continue in some capacity for years to come.

You never know where I will sit next. It may be next to you!

  • Congratulations to Moose Legion MOKAN#4
  • The last year the MOKAN4 Board of Directors achieved all of their goals set by Moose International. They set out to make a difference and despite having to cancel one Moose Legion Celebration and having another restricted with limited capacity, they were able to push on and make all goals and more. This year MOKAN4 finished in 8th place for the country having signed up more members and making more donations than even asked. The new Board of Directors are already working on next year! They have been holding more meetings both virtual and in person. The MOKAN4 Board of Directors plan to make visits to each Lodge in the district and attend events and meetings.

Keep an eye out for some great new fundraisers and raffles this coming year.

We plan on coordinating some rides before the season is out just to get together and keep the awareness going. Moose Riders raises money for children's charities and every donation made from buying a dinner or raffle is appreciated.
